Training methods that focus on how dogs think and feel can help us solve behavior problems and change a dog's internal states.
This approach helps dogs understand and choose better behaviors that will make them happier and healthier. The goal is to not just change what a dog DOES, but to change how they feel and think about it.
This can help them feel more comfortable and successful in their lives.
Brittany is the quintessential dog-mom with a wealth of uncommon knowledge and wisdom, having worked in grooming, boarding facilities, and the pet industry for years.
Brittany began going to client appointments with Andrew in 2015 to learn his techniques and began conceptualizing the whole idea of Dog Savvy which was formalized in 2019. Brittany and Andrew live in Texas with their dogs, Monte (French Bulldog), Hiccup (Pug/Chihuahua), Phoebe (Great Dane), Cheeto, a very doglike cat, and Smurf, the adventure-kitty.
Andrew has been studying dog training, behavior science, and behavioral economics for over 25 years. He’s worked with a variety of dogs, including police dogs, service dogs, hunting dogs, and of course, pet dogs.
For the last 10+ years in the Austin area, he has dedicated himself to working with dog owners who have a passion to learn and engage with their dogs in a more meaningful and purposeful way throughout life.
